Workday Payroll Functional Consultant


Extensive Workday Payroll skills to include the following experience:

  • Production Support with post implementation activities, including payroll processing validations and timeline recommendations, system configurations (including Earning Codes, Deduction Codes, Pay Components, Pay Run Category, Time Entry Codes, Time Calculations and Time Eligibility and validated proper taxation), creating test scripts, perform system testing, training users, tax compliance, project documentation, troubleshooting and resolution with post-go-live issues.

  • Implementation support from SAP Payroll System to Workday Payroll System for multiple companies, multiple jurisdictions with parallel testing/auditing of gross to net earnings, deductions, taxes, withholding orders and payment elections.

  • Production Support and quarterly tax reconciliation from SAP legacy System to Workday.

  • Create new configurations such as pay components, business processes, security and system configurations based on payroll, time, benefits and HCM related requirements.

  • Develop and configure new calculations for payroll related requirements.

  • Quality control new integrations and modifications and work with the development team to test and deploy the integrations into production.

  • Define and document processes, create and update procedures, documentation and job aides.

  • Serve as a functional support contact for Workday Payroll activities.

  • Configure Payroll System for Year-End activities including delivery of W-2s and 1042s.

  • Design and write custom payroll reports to accommodate payroll operational requirements using Workday’s reporting utilities.

  • Coordinate unit, system, and parallel testing with internal users and with external vendors.

  • Open and manage cases with Workday when system bugs are found. Provide documentation, test solutions provided and follow up with Workday.

  • Work closely with teams controlling Compensation and Benefits modules to ensure their configuration processes on a paycheck correctly: Perform analysis of tax and legislative compliance updates.

  • Communicate progress and changes to all appropriate parties and document established project plans, changes and decisions made in the project plan.
